Schoorl and surroundings
Park Duynvallei is situated in the small hamlet of Hargen on the north side of the Schoorl Dunes and close to the sea. But it is not just the location in an area of natural beauty that makes Park Duynvallei a great holiday destination. There are a lot of things to see and do in the surrounding area.

Groet
Groet is a pleasant village situated between Hargen and Schoorl. There are a number of inviting restaurants in Groet such as restaurant De Bokkesprong, located in a traditional Dutch farmhouse with a history dating back to 1905. In Groet you will also find a bakery, a butcher´s and a grocery shop.p>
The Schoorl Dunes
Schoorl is an excellent place for nature lovers seeking peace and tranquillity. The Schoorl Dunes National Park is the widest and most varied nature reserve along the Dutch coast. There are beautiful walking and cycling routes through dunes and polders and a car-free entrance to the beach (Schoorl Beach).
Schoorl
In the centre of Schoorl is a climbing dune of more than 54 metres in height! There are some nice shops and restaurants at the foot of this dune. Art lovers will be pleased with the variety of fine galleries and art workshops and there is a lot to do for children in addition to the climbing dune such as special activities organised by the forestry.
Bergen
The atmosphere in the village of Bergen is defined by art, culture and cultural history. In this village you will find museums and galleries, an art centre, lovely boutiques and even an artificial ski-run. In addition, there are a number of annual events such as the Kunst 10-daagse (10-day art event) Holland Music Sessions, Lichtjesavond (evening with lights and candles in the centre), the Summer Art Market and several fairs.
Alkmaar
Alkmaar is a pleasant town with picturesque canals and special boutiques. Suggestion: visit Fnidsen, the old shopping part with the best boutiques. And pay a visit to the Cheese Museum or the Beer Museum. Check with our reception staff for more sightseeing tips in the surroundings..!
